The key issue being that the unregulated online casino gambling industry means that all revenues are going offshore.

The concrete evidence appeared when the refunds of the indicted operators of online casino and poker amounted to $100 million to $500 million. When PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker were slapped with accusations by the federal government for bank fraud, they cut a deal with the Department of Justice in order to retain their domain names in the Internet. The deal was for these companies for online casinos and poker to refund the amount they owe to their players based in the US. When the report of the estimates appeared, it gave proof that the Internet gambling industry in the US alone is a huge industry. According to John Pappas, the Executive Officer of the Poker Players Alliance, tens to hundreds of millions of dollars are being held up because of the actions made by the Department of Justice.

This result shows that poker is growing to become the biggest entertainment choice in the whole world. For many years, several countries have already approved legislation for the game, while US is still banning the game. But several US legislators are now starting to change their viewpoint of the popular game genre at online casinos.
