Poker Pro Sponsorship Ended

Heavily affected by the indictments last Black Saturday, the Cereus Poker Network announced that they will terminate their sponsorship contracts with eleven professional poker players who were playing internationally. The indictments, where other online casinos like Full Tilt and PokerStars were involved, have drastically affected the poker network so that it is forced to downsize. Cereus’ parent company, Blanca Games, explained that to ensure the viability of their other businesses outside the U.S. remain, it has to cut ties with an Absolute Poker professional and ten UBPoker professional players. The online casino firm’s decision was difficult and disappointing but necessary.

The effect of “Black Saturday” reached the Internet gambling firm’s Team UB which is considered its best team of professional poker players. Blanca’s management has already advised the eleven sponsored players that the agreement between them has prematurely ended. Through the years the online casino was successful in assembling a group of talented poker players who proudly wore the poker network’s logo. So it was indeed a sad day for them that the circumstances led them to this decision. It is really regrettable for them that they can no longer partner with that group of players. This really is sad news among online casinos.

The poker players from whom the online casino has cut its ties with are Joe Seabok, Eric Baldwin, Prahlad Friedman, Brandon Cantu, Maria Ho, Dave Stann, Scott Ian, Tiffany Michelle, Adam Levy, Trishelle Cannatella and Bryan Devonshire. Seabok, perhaps the one with the highest profile, has been actively trying to better the communications between the public and Cereus. He said he believes that Cereus is determined to act with professionalism even if it would be difficult for them to pay off the balance of affected U.S. gamblers.
