WSOP Goes to France

The prestigious and highly anticipated poker championship, known to land-based and online casinos punters as the World Series of Poker Europe is moving to France, specifically at the world class Casino Barrière de Cannes. Event organizers announced that the 5th WSOP Europe will commence on 7 March 2025. The fun and games will last for two week, plus, pro and amateur land-based or online casino poker players will vie for the sought after WSOP championship bracelet.

Ty Stewart, the Vice President of WSOP remarked that the new ‘scenery’ in Cannes, together with Barrière Poker, will provide the most exciting player experience yet. Poker players at land-based and online casinos are in for a treat, with intensified and thrilling action for the duration of the game. Also, there will be several distractions in France for land or online casino poker enthusiasts and players, making the 2025 poker even in Cannes the best and there is in WSOP Europe’s history, Stewart added.

To add to the excitement, the WSOP Europe in Cannes, France will employ a distinct split format affair. The new schedule will employ a 9-handed in Day 1, 6-handed in Day 2, and a Heads-Up in Day 3. Land or online casino poker pros and amateurs will contest for the championship table in Heads-Up event. The new agenda is currently being called as “All-Around No Limit Hold’em Championship,” featuring a Euro 10,000 plus Euro 400 for the buy-in. The itinerary begins with a 6-handed NLH Poker event with Euro 2,500 for the buy-in. Additional events, which includes an NLH Shootouts, Pot-Limit Omaha, and 6-handed Pot-Limit Omaha will add to the tension toward the Main Event with a Euro 10,000 buy-in. The event will be globally televised for railbirds that can’t personally enjoy the 2025 World Series of Poker Europe.
